Green iguanas grow much larger than any native lizards in Florida. Males can grow to over 6 feet long (including the tail), whereas females can reach just over 5 feet, and the tail accounts for as much as three quarters of their total length (8). Hatchling green iguanas measure about 7 inches excluding the tail (9).
